Day 7
Hola amigos!
Sunday was a great day here in the DR. We attended church in the capital this morning. It was a blessing to worship with the congregation there and feel so welcomed. We sang a few traditional hymns in spanish. Two church groups that are here with score also attended the same church and they sang a few songs in english. They even webcasted part of the service so that their church (in...
Day 6
Today we went to the JUMBO store and bought food to feed a sugarcane village. We bought 37 bags of food which will feed a family for about a week. They contained beans, rice, coffee, oil, ,tuna, and chicken boullion cubes. After playing with the kids, we brought everyone to the small church and shared Jesus with them. Cameron Walters gave his testimony followed by Kiko delivering the gospel. It...
Day 4 & 5
Thursday morning was our sightseeing time in the capital, Santo Domingo. Our games were in Boca Chica, so we had to have all of our baseball gear with us in order to go straight to the fields after sightseeing. We spent an hour shopping at the “Straw Market” where the players bartered down prices for souvenirs and gifts that you will see soon. We ate lunch at “Pizza House”, an inexpensive pizza...
Day 4
Today was another extremely busy day in the DR. It was so packed with stuff that an update didn’t get written, so what we will do is make tomorrow night’s post a double. We are at Catalina Island tomorrow, so we spend the day as tourists and there won’t be as much to report on.
So please stay tuned for that one. Thanks for your continued prayer and love. Peace to you tonight.

Day 3
This morning we packed all 26 of us and our gear (consolidated into a few bags per team) and headed to Boca Chica for our games. The 18U team played equipo Mamone and won 9-2. Coach Bethke took the mound for the 18U team and brought some heat along with his “sucio” (dirty) curveball and slider.
On offense, we had some hot bats, with several players having multiple hits. Coach Bethke even had his...
Day 2
Today was a very busy day in the DR. We started the day off with a trip to La Romana to visit an all-girl orphanage which houses about 100 girls. There were some faces we recognized from our trip last year and plenty of new ones. The players spent time distributing toys and other gift items to the girls, playing games with them, and just loving on them. In our devotions last night, one of the...
Day 1 - Travel
We have arrived safely in the DR. Our travel went extremely smoothly, we thanks you for your prayers and support in all of it. No luggage was lost, customs and immigration went smoothly, and a short bus ride brought us to the SCORE Hotel in Juan Dolio.
I have even found an unsecured wifi signal. God is providing :)
Continue to pray with us that God would do a powerful in the DR this week.
we are boarding our flight to Santo Domingo. Will update when possible
